St. Michael’s, we lay a strong emphasis on sports and physical development. Our sports curriculum is planned and designed for skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control, balance etc.
Nowadays, parents look beyond academics for their child’s overall development. They are also now more aware of professional possibilities in sports. Taking care of the parent’s perception, we provide good sports facilities in our school. We believe in mass participation exposing our students to a number of sports events at inter-school, District Level, State Level and at the National Level. The P.E teachers are energetic with a good amount of expertise in sports and provide coaching for sports like group events (Volleyball, Throwball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Ball Badminton, Shuttle badminton) and athletics like relay, marathon, races, long jump, shot put, disc throw, hammer throw, javelin throw, high jump, triple jump, 80 mt hurdles,100 mt hurdles, chess and yoga are all a part of athletics which boost the morale of our students to try harder with better preparations every time they perform. These activities develop their abilities and enhance their stamina, muscle tone and provide a number of physical benefits.
For students to know the benefits of sports, they are instructed about the body parts and muscle development in playing each sport along with game knowledge.
